Just purchased an Aspire TC-885-ES14 and want to run both onboard and GT1030 graphics card

Staples Sales person assured me it would work.  Spent considerable time with the toll free help line and can only get one or the other to work.  VERY frustrating. Tried an GT 210 card originally and was told it was probably too old and I should upgrade the card.  Purchased the GT 1030 after being assured it should work by tech support.  Please help!

    Good night mike01 !

When you install a graphics card, the integrated GPU is automatically disabled to avoid resource conflicts.

However, the BIOS on some motherboards supports the simultaneous use of both GPUs, so you will have to check what graphics options are available in the BIOS setup. Be aware that this is only supported on some motherboards.

If this option is not supported, you must connect the two monitors to the GT 1030 using each of the existing ports.

Thank you. I've downloaded the newest bios firmware. Hopefully that will allow me to use both. When I initially installed the GT 1030 both graphic cards wouldn't work. I had to disable the onboard graphics in the device manager before I could get the Gt 1030 to work.

I'm afraid this model is one of the ones that doesn't support using onboard graphics and a GPU card simultaneously. The salesman was misinformed. :( As @MaClane suggested, you can run multiple monitors, but only on either a GPU card or on the onboard video.

After updating the bios and endless hours of trying various options I decided to return the graphics card and just use the two HDMI ports and one d-sub port from the onboard graphics card.
Thank you everyone for your input and help.
