Hello

I have an Acer Spin 5 SP513 and the bottom of the laptop case is missing most of its screws. This has become a big problem because I cannot move it at all anymore as it will shut off (casing itself completes a circuit or something so if it detaches slightly due to no screws the computer shuts off).

I found a website for laptop screws (http://www.laptopscrews.com/M2.5x8.htm)

Wondering if anyone knows how I can find which one's I need in order to have a full set. I know that I need some of them to be longer than others for this model.

THANK YOU

Hi njorde, I just ran into the same problem yesterday! I found this set on amazon, which I think should include the right screws, but I'm not certain. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FTI8TM8/
I also dug through the user manual, and couldn't find any specifications for screw size. I'll keep digging, and if I find anything I'll post it here.

Just finished working on my granddaughter's Spin 5 with missing screws and charging/battery problems.  There are 2 different sized screws, 4 were missing and the charger plug was noticeably loose.  I had some screws removed from old laptops that I salvaged and found some that fit.  The curious thing was that all the remaining screws were loose and there was evidence that at initial assembly they were loctited in with Blue.  I've never had any laptop I've owned where ANY screws were loose and this apparently isn't the only post about loose Acer screws. Anyway.... I replaced the screws, did the Loctite again, and voila! the charger plug is tight and the battery seems to work properly.  Acer needs to send a FREE screw pack to anyone who complains about this because it's obvious there was some bad Loctite out there during assembly.  Just a thought Acer guys.

You've posted this on a forum for ACER users just like you and me. So your suggestion, while admirable, is likely to be read only by ACER users just like you or me.  Meanwhile. most of us users do what Peetsey suggested above. We order a laptop screw kit assortment from Amazon for less than $10 if we hit the magic $25 qualifier for free shipping.  All these kits include tiny easily-lost screws that come in handy for other smallish electronics devices & appliances with missing screws like smartphones, 2-way handhelds, headsets, printers, watches, even hearing-aids. IMO, all these mfrs need to provide FREE screws maybe  along with a FREE tube of Loctite to everyone at the time of sale. But sadly most don't. Sigh. I guess we all have to live with the fact that there seems to be a lot of things in this world with loose or missing screws. Don't you think?   :)   Jack E/NJ
