  • Hi,
Could you please find the model of your panel, you can find out by installing HWiNFO64 program.
The original screen should be one of the following:
    BOE NV156FHM-43
    LG LP 156WF6-SPP1
    LQ156D1JW02D
It's better to check which screen was originally installed in your laptop.

Also curious about this. Even 100hz panel would do.

Hi, my panel is a 60 Hz LG LP 156WF6-SPP1 on the Acer Predator G9-593. Is the panel upgradable? I would like a 120 Hz or 140 Hz panel.

    Hi,
I think you can upgrade to a 120Hz panel, AUO42ED will most probably work which is B156HAN04.2 but I haven't done this upgrade. I have compared it with your current panel.

Thank you so much for responding! Much appreciated! If I try upgrading the panel, what is the worst that can happen? And are the mounting brackets the same and everything?

    2 things can happen:
    1) brightness control will not work
    2) G-Sync function will not work

    2) is 90% to happen, 1) is 50% to happen, maybe more like 60%.

Don!t forget to buy a new eDP cable, your current panel is using a 30 pin cable, however new 120/144hz IPS and TN panels use 40 pin cable.

Ok, but is there any way of getting G-sync and the controls to work again?
It looks like the panel brummyfan2 suggested already has a 30 pin cable, so I believe it wont be necessary to buy a new eDP cable.

I'd also like to ask if the procedure of replacing the panel of the Acer Predator 15 G9-593-759B is similar to replacing a panel on a Acer Predator Helios 300. Is it?

Ok, here's an update. After changing the panel all the brightness settings work. However I cannot access Nvidia Control Panel. So I guess G-sync isn't configurable. The most annoying thing though is that the backlight of the panel isn't triggered before entering the main OS. This means that I cannot use BIOS. The usual Predator boot-logo that is supposed to show up every time you turn on the laptop is also gone. The reason I know this is a backlight color is because I can see a tiny bit of letters when I access BIOS, which means that the PC is in BIOS but isn't displaying the UI. Does anyone know if there is any way to fix this? Besides from mounting the old crappy 60 Hz panel of course :D
