What do you mean by 'go'? Does it stay on or off when you press the power button? Jack E/NJ

The power light will stay ON for 1-5 seconds and it will turn off again.

Look inside the laptop's charge port with a flashlight. Is the center pin straight and not touching the outside slider? Jack E/NJ

The centre pin of the charger port is in the centre position only. It is not touching the outside slider. The laptop is charging properly as usual.
But there is no response when I try to turn on the laptop.

The power board flat flexible ribbon cable connector on the mainboard has either come loose or must be re-seated to clean its contacts. You must remove the battery and keyboard by depressing and lifting the keyboard clips as shown below with a credit card. Jack E/NJ

I tried the way you mentioned above. I removed the power board FFC from the main board connector and reconnected it back. But still, the result is the same.
Is there any chance for motherboard fault?

Yes, a chance. But chances seem greater for a power overload. Temporarily disconnect the HDD to see if the power light will stay on. If not, then temporarily remove a memory module. Jack E/NJ

I disconnected the HDD and also removed 1 RAM. But still not turning on. The same situation.
No sound. Cooling fan is not working. Dead condition.

Is there any chance for CMOS battery fault?

    (1) Does this mean the battery charge light is turned on blue when the charger is plugged in?
    (2) Do you have any other devices (mouse, BT dongle, etc) plugged into a USB port, an SD card reader, HDMI port, VGA port, DVD tray etc?
    (3) Can you disconnect the LCD ribbon cable connector from the mainboard just in case it has a conductor trace short in the hinge area?

Doubtful but it might be worth trying to remove it if it isn't soldered.

    1. No. The battery light was in orange colour when I kept it for charging. After 1-2 hour, the blue light turns on which indicates the battery is full.
But something has become wrong after I removed and reconnected all these things(power board FFC, battery, RAM, HDD).
Now, when I plug in the charger, first the blue light will turns on after that orange light will turn on. I don’t know what happened to my laptop.

    2. No. There are no external devices connected.

This suggests something is draining the battery. I think there is a leak to ground somewhere. Perhaps a screw is out place? Or a pinched ribbon cable. Do you always remove the battery and power supply when you disconnect & reconnect cables and boards? Jack E/NJ

Yes, I do. I remove the battery first before disconnecting the cables and boards.

Only one last device that can be temporarily disconnected is the CD/DVD drive if installed. Other than that, it seems to be due to a mainboard/powerboard failure or a accidental short. Sorry that i can't be more specific on where the problem is. Jack E/NJ

    Finally i found the solution.
I removed the CMOS battery for 15-20 minutes from the motherboard for Bios reset and also I disconnected every ribbon cables, HDD, CD Drive, RAM everything and reconnected. Finally, the laptop turns ON.
The laptop is working properly now.

Thank you for your suggestions @JackE.

I just came here to also post a similar issue. My acer 5750G laptop would turn on and then back off about 2 seconds later.I also tried all the suggestions above but I've found that if you turn it on and then quickly unplug the power button the laptop will stay on (not the power cord, the actual ribbon cable for the power button)

I'm pretty sure this laptop wanted to die of old age, I will make it live once again!

Maybe a new power button board would solve the problem? Google search part no. "55.RFD02.001" pretty cheap if you can find one from a seller who ships to your location. :)

    Hi joejoeinc,

    Try to do power drain,

    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Unplug the charger.
    3. At the bottom there will be a tiny pin hole with battery sign close to it take a pin or paper clip and insert into it hold that button for 20-30 seconds. Then turn ON the unit and check.
