You said >>>idk but maybe 15.9.0.1015 and than updated to 16.8.0.1000>>>

Then you said >>>here is where i got it>>>

Please explain how you installed version 16.8.0.1000, from the ACER website that only has version 16.7.8.1024 listed?

OK. Go back here https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/7572?b=1 . Download the 16.7.8.1024 version again. Then try to install it again. Make sure you install the correct version for your exact model number! Then post a screenshot of showing that it is actually installed. Jack E/NJ

OK. Let's check Device Manager one last time for the D drive. Click on the Disk Drives folder. If the Western Digital drive is still not listed, then we must remove and test it externally on a USB port using a USB-2-SATA3 adapter cable as shown below. They are very inexpensive and can be ordered online or from a local computer shop. Jack E/NJ

    (1) You must first purchase a USB-to-SATA 2.5" HDD adapter cable.
    (2) Then you must remove the Western Digital drive from your laptop
    (3) Then connect the Western Digital drive to the USB3 port with this adapter cable
    (4) Then boot the machine to see if the Western Digital drive is now detected in File Explorer and Diskmgmt.msc

OK. Just remove the HDD cover screw, remove the cover, remove 4 HDD screws and take out the HDD. Jack E/NJ

Remove the 4 screws. Then lift the back of the drive gently then pull out of the slot. Jack E/NJ
