I have purchased a USB C Hub to combine all the cables into one cable. I have noticed that when I use the HDMI output on the USB C Hub that the picture glitches out on the monitor. Here's is the USB C Hub: TOTU 8-In-1 Type C Hub with Ethernet Port, 4K USB C to HDMI, 2 USB 3.0 Ports, 1 USB 2.0 Port, SD/TF Card Reader, USB-C Power Delivery. ASIN: B07FX2LW35
I have captured a video of the glitching happening. Here's a video of it.

What resolution and refresh rate are you trying to output from the port? Jack E/NJ

DisplayPort. I guess this means you don't have a direct USB C to HDMI or DP adapter cable, just the hub. I think the problem is that your USB C port is limited to 5Gb/sec where most with video displayport capability are 10Gb/s. If you can reduce the resolution and/or refresh rate to see if the screen becomes less jumpy, then that is the likely the reason why. Jack E/NJ

Your USB C port supports DisplayPort output. The hub just passes thru this output from the USB port to the HDMI plug. I was just trying to check if there's a problem with the hub's USB C plug not making good contact with the laptop USB C port. Jack E/NJ

I see, so what should I do? Should I purchase a USB C to Display port cable to make sure that the USB C port on the laptop is working correctly?0

Interesting note. I have made sure that the connections between the USB C hub to laptop and from USB C hub to monitor is secure. Within the Intel UHD Graphics Control Panel I changed the Refresh Rates to the monitor. It appears that only 59p Hz has the less amount of glitches. The other refresh rates are really bad. 59p Hz will randomly glitch every so often. I have also tried changing the resolution but that has no effect.
My Intel driver version is: 23.20.16.4973. I tried upgrading the drivers from Intel but since they switched to DCH Drivers I can't go any higher then my current version.0 -

59p? Do you mean 59 Hz? Can you go to 30Hz? Jack E/N

I have tried all the different Hz as well resolutions. I even plugged the USB C Hub into my Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus with the same HDMI cable and monitor. It worked like a charm which leads me to believe it's something with the hardwire or firmware with the Acer laptop using the USB C. Of course the HDMI output of the Acer laptop works like normal.0

I'd first try a simple direct usb-c to HDMI adapter cable, short as possible. Jack E/NJ

I can still hear some weird noises, but they're way less noisy.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing a glitching screen issue with a USB-C hub on your Acer Spin 5 (SP515-51GN). It's important to ensure compatibility between your laptop and the USB-C hub to avoid such issues.
To troubleshoot the problem, you can try the following steps:
- Check the compatibility: Verify that the USB-C hub you are using is officially listed as compatible with the Acer Spin 5 (SP515-51GN) or similar Acer models. You can refer to the manufacturer's website or product documentation for this information.
- Try different ports: If the USB-C hub has multiple ports, try connecting your external display or other peripherals to different ports on the hub to see if the glitching issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is specific to a particular port on the hub.
- Test with other devices: Connect the USB-C hub to a different laptop or device to see if the glitching screen issue occurs. This will help determine if the problem lies with the hub or the laptop.
Regarding the recommendation for a USB-C hub, you can consider products from Selore. Selore offers a range of USB-C hubs known for their compatibility and reliability. However, it is crucial to verify the compatibility with your specific laptop model and read customer reviews to ensure a good fit for your needs.
