Battery will not charge - new for Christmas.  Called, got a replacement pwr pack (knew that wasn't it but had to play the game, first).  Tried all the reset/wait games and nothing works.  Custom upgrades at the factory....wonder if they left something out or just a bad battery pack - yes, I know it is possible.  PITA to start a new case number everytime their "fix" fails.  Anybody else having similar problems?

    Hi gatotten,
Thanks for your response. With the blinking lights it means that battery is trying to get the charge but is failing. I am sorry to say but this is an issue with the computer. Please sent acer for repair or get a replacement from the store you bought this.

    Hi gatotten,
Please try these simple steps to see if issue gets fixed.
For this take out the charger if connected and press and hold the power button till all lights are off.
Have a look at the bottom of the laptop. Search for a tiny pin hole with a battery symbol by the side of it. If you see the pin hole, take a paper clip and press and hold it down for 30 seconds.
If you do not see the pin hole, then simply press and hold the power button for 30 seconds .

Connect the charger and see if the charging light comes up. If it does not , then it may be a charger issue.
If it shows the charging light. Turn on the computer and check after 10 mins if battery shows charging.
If still not charging , follow the next steps to uninstall and reinstall the battery adapter.

Press the windows logo key and the letter X on keyboard together.
In the box that comes up, click on Device manager from the left panel.
Now under device manager click on arrow by the side of battery. Do a right click on the battery adapter and click uninstall.( Make sure to UN-CHECK delete driver if it is checked as we do not want to delete any driver)
Restart computer to get the fresh battery driver installed.
Now keep charger plugged for at least an hour to check if battery charges.

If still does not charge its possible that its a hardware issue.

FYI, yes, I did uninstall the battery drivers, did the battery recycle (button, wait, restart), and then the battery meter icon moves only 8 times each retry.  I am sure it's the PC, not the pwr supply.

It's not the pwr supply, Acer sent another one and still the same problem.  Both Pwr supplies are putting out 19.2 V. I am not a newbie to PC issues.  I am a Chemist/programmer/instrumentation builder.  I do not want to take this apart and invalidate the warranty so I guess it's an RMA and back to Acer for 7 -9 days....ugh!!

Does anybody know the correct "orange" light sequence, i.e. if it's blinking..........or if it's solid......   After the reset(s) the charger light, turns blue but only for about 10-20 secs and then reverts to orange flashing.  If that is a symptom of a bad battery pack then I will quit posting and send it back.  Thanks.
