Not long received an Acer Swift 3, plugged in the charger and tried to turn it on but nothing happens. Thought it may of needed a charge 1st so i left it for an hour, the battery light has gone from amber to blue but when i try and switch it on, the power light  flickers the back lights on the keyboard flash and nothing happens. It will not power up no matter what. anyone know if theres anything i can do or am i just to return this laptop as DOA pretty poor if its cos of an old bios like ive read on the forum.

    Hi Ares0,
Please try these steps and see if this fixes the issue.
For this take out the charger if connected and press and hold the power button till all lights are off.
Have a look at the bottom of the laptop. Search for a tiny pin hole with a battery symbol by the side of it. If you see the pin hole, take a paper clip and press and hold it down for 30 seconds.
If you do not see the pin hole, then simply press and hold the power button for 30 seconds and let go.

Do try  performing BIOS default now.
    Steps to follow.
    1) Press and hold power button to make sure all lights are off.
2)Now press power button just ones and keep tapping F2 (tap,tap)about 10-15 times till the bios screen  loads up.
    3) Ones in BIOS, Press F9 one time and hit enter.
    4) Press F10 one time and hit enter.
This will restart your computer  .
Please let me know if this fixes the issue.

Thanks for the advice but it doesn't work. I couldn't turn the laptop off completely to start with as the light on the side kept flashing blue and the keyboard would flash then go off and just stay in the same cycle. Pressed the battery reset anyway and plugged the ac connector back in but its just the same as before. not happy at all with this was a present for my daughter for Christmas. Will be the last Acer product I ever buy and if anyone asks me i'll never recommend one to anyone. Thanks Kamalika for the advice though.

    Hi Ares0,
     Thanks for your response.
Please let me know if you are able to enter BIOS at least.
If you are then do BIOS default. That should help. If you are not able to go to BIOS too and acer logo is not coming up,  then unfortunately its a hardware issue. Please contact acer for warranty repair or contact the store that you purchased this from for other options.
    To contact acer.
