The Hard Disk of my Aspire E15 (ES1-571-C9NA serie model N15W4 (Windows10 preinstalled) has died. I am trying to replace the hard disk for a new one (SSD), but after replacing it to the new Hard Disk and pressing the power button on, the laptop shows a error message "No bootable device".
Please, How I can install ANY operating sytem (Linux/Windows7/Windows 10) in a new Hard Disk? It is possible to replace the hard disk, or do I have to drop the ACER into the trush bin just because the Hard Disk has failed?
Thanks in advance.

  • Is hd being recognized in the bios information section? Is boot mode in uefi (hd must be converted to gpt) or legacy mode (hd converted to mbr)? Did you create a password in setsupervisorpassword to disable secureboot?

I do not know, because I cannot get into the BIOS (F2 does not work). The new hard disk is new (so it is empty, it is no formatted). I have tried with a GPT Windows10 installer USB. The system tryies booting from my USB device, but then I get a "Security boot fail" message.

Solved! I was making me crazy as I was not able accessing the BIOS. Nothing worked: clearing CMOS battery, removing HDD...
The issue is a sort of keyboard mapping during boot (maybe it only happens in regional configured laptops- mine is a Spanish one).
Well, I discovered I can always enter BIOS by pressing F2 when pressed from an external USB keyboard. But F2 never works from the laptop keyboard.
Now I can solve my UEFI/Security boot issues.
Thanks, and hope this tip could be usefull for anyone.
