I was wondering what would be the cause of my screen display issues ive been noticing this after a couple"Nvidia geforce gtx 950m"and"Intel Core i5 updates when i click on a folder or transfer files to my western digital external hdd things appear huge as if i magnified them.

    (1) Were they ACER-flavored or generic nvidia and intel updates?
    (2) What problems were you having that you felt the updates would fix?

What do you mean through ACER? Did you download and try to install them from the ACER driver website here https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/6456?b=1 ? Do you have the File Explorer set to extra large icons for the folders you're tranferring to and from? Jack E/NJ

Come to think of it update came threw a third party application stating that it had a newer version than whats on Acer's driver page but ive restored the intel graphics to default but still no change. If i turn the laptop off for a while it seems to work when powering it back on then if i connect my hdmi cord to my smart tv to game or watch a movie and unplug the hdmi cord seems to enlarge everything all over again.

What driver versions does Device Manager show? I suggest you download and install the ACER-flavored drivers from the official ACER download page. https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/6456?b=1
Generic drivers are not recommended. Jack E/NJ
