High temps even with undervolt and optimization predator 300

Hello

Hope I can find some help here before I have to return the laptop. I have a predator 300, with i7 8750h and 6gb gtx1060.

I have undervoted both cpu and gpu to -0.160 and also optimized windows 10. Yet I am still hitting temperatures up to 98 degrees celcius. I put the fan on max and even have a 4 fan cooler, and still range between 85-98 degrees when playing games like assassins creed odyssey.

Super disappointed and hope there is a solution.

Are you sure that the undervolting is applied? It looks like the you set the value, but the CPU doesn't take it. Use another software (for example HWiNFO64 or CPUID HWMonitor) to confirm that the CPU is undervolted. I have the same CPU and before the undervolt the temperatures was the same, but after dropped with almost 20 degrees.
Also -160mV seems a lot, try a smaller value. Mine is stable at -135. And also make sure you undervolt the Core and the Cash BOTH with the same value.
You can also post screenshots of your settings.

    Hello

I have tried -140, -130, and -120 on both core and cache. HWmonitor has also confirmed that the voltages have stuck. I am completely baffled how the temps havnt dropped at all after undervolting. I tried playing a heavy game with throttle stop both turned on and turned off and it didn't effect temps at all.

I will post screens later today.

Repaste most of the times the thermal paste it's the main issue

I am with the same notebook and it worked for me. What is your temperature when the CPU is idle? Mine is steady 41 degrees. Maximum 45 on low usage like browsing and watching movies.
Post screenshots of your throttlestop and MSI Afterburner (if you undervolted your GPU) settings. It might help to find the issue.

the 37 degrees you see is from a cold start.

I'm also usually in the 40s while idle and 50ish with minor usage.

It seems the undervolt has brought down temps while idling but not during heavy usage.

    How are my settings?

Your settings look good I normally run mine about -0.140. However thats the giant crutch of the i7-8750h GTX 1060 in a laptop chassis, the amount of heat output under heavy load is pretty ridiculous. I would recommend optimizing your laptop for gaming. This will involve turning on whisper mode which will heavily reduce your graphics and FPS then slowly turn up your settings till you find a comfortable spot for that game. Some games I can run at 144Hz and not break 75°c other games i can barely run on low graphics at 60Hz with tems in the low 80°c

Ok. The differences from my settings:
1.Speed Shift. You don't need Speed Shift 0. That increases temperatures. I use mine on 128 and I think I is a sweet spot for me. You can try different settings. Minimum is 0, maximum 255.
2.I don't know what it means but my IccMax for CPU core is 128.00A ; for CPU cache 11.0A.
    3. System agent in my configuration is left default. 0.00. The Unlock adjustable voltage is NOT ticked.

I have already used that exact video to optimize windows 10.

Also I played around more with the settings in throttlestop and it made no difference..

Is anyone else getting these ridiculous temps ur do I need to send this in for repasting?

Repasting has had no impact for my laptop whatsoever, at least you don't seem to have any performance issues. My laptop(same as yours) has performance issues to on top of high temperature problems. I have pretty much tried every solution listed on this forum and none of them work. Here's a screnhot of my predator sense at the time of writing this.

And when i say performnce issues i get like 10-20 frames in games like destiny 2 on low settings.

You definitely need to repaste it properly with a good paste like kryonaut for ex you are on thermal throttling with those temps and i find it weird because it's ot crashing at 100% it should crash all system down when u hit that not comparing mine (because doesn't even compare) but after i repasted and undervolted i have 69 max gpu and up form 70-75 cpu on all games on ultra so you should be hitting 80-85 max on your specs to have good performance

***** man I'd return that ***** asap if mine did that.

I will be sending to acer for repasting to avoiding any voiding of warranties that would happen if I did it myself.

    I will update this thread

If you don't have any seals anywhere you could so it yourself without voiding warranty if you feel confident to do it if not as u said send it to support but make sure u get your own thermal paste for them personally i do not thrust anyone to do it but me :p if there is a mistake there's only one i can blame :x
