Hello,
I just bought this laptop Acer Predator Helios 300 Special Edition not for the purposes of gaming but for the purpose of doing heavy image manipulation in Gimp, photoshop, to use vector programs and do 3d modeling and rendering. I am shocked that as I try Gimp, Blender (3d software) the functions on these programs after a short while become irresponsive or act out of whack.
Please help! Is there something that I can do on my end of is this computer not designated to perform well for these tasks?
When I was using gimp doing image manipulation the functions won't respond or if they respond they behave in not a way that it should. The same with Blender, just everything started to behave out of whack.
Please help!?
Thank you.

Windows or Linux? 32 or 64-bit GIMP? Beta or stable versions? Jack E/NJ

Windows 64 bit. Gimp is the "alternative" photoshop. It's like photoshop but it's free.0

PS: Make sure your Control Panel power plan is set to high or max performance

I think I found the solution, I had optimize each application to run the GPU. Basically, Gimp, Photoshop, Inkscape etc there are settings to use my dedicated graphics card. Prior to that it was just using the non dedicated graphics card slowing everything down.
Thank you for the response, hopefully this helps someone in the future.1 -
