Have had the laptop since March of this year, has never been an issue until about a week ago. Will come back after screen only sleep, but not after hibernating, without a hard reset. Keyboard lites up, but no fan, and screen stays black after opening screen, when tapping keyboard, or even pushing start button once. I have adjusted the "sleep" settings so that I have more time, but I spend the day on and off my computer with pretty large gaps in between, and would like to fix the problem so I'm not draining my battery or having to hard reset every time.

Any help would be appreciated! My computer did update itself a couple weeks ago, so I'm not sure if it's related, but I'm not super computer literate so idk what to do..

The biggest drain on the battery is the screen by far. Accordingly, none of your power plans, including lid & button settings, should be set to hibernate, only sleep mode. The very minimal energy saving that hibernate allegedly provides the battery is not worth the annoyances it can produce. Jack E/NJ

I have a similar issue, where the display will not wake up from sleep. Power settings on battery are set for the screen to turn off after 5 minutes and 20 minutes when plugged in (there is no hibernation set). The screen will not turn back on without hard reset.

KmVanAtten Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click change what the power buttons do in the left pane. Check that none of the settings are set to hibernate. Jack E/NJ

I see the last question is an issue I have but no solution yet?
