Hello,

Is anybody facing a wifi issue on acer 5750 laptop. I'm having trouble with wifi for past 6 months. This wifi disconnection happens very often. Again I have to restart the system to get wifi connection. Troubleshooting the wifi connection does not help.
Can someone let me know how to fix this wifi issue. Thanks!

Well, it might be a problem with the router. Don't get me wrong but there is something called the 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz wireless bands.

Logic here is simple, when you're close to your router, you connect to the 5 Ghz frequency and when you're a bit far, you automatically switch to 2.4 Ghz and this is again automatic. When this switch happens, you tend to disconnect from your wireless router unfortunately.

How to fix this you might ask? Simple! Go to command prompt and type ipconfig and you'll get a number called "Default Gateway". it will probably start something like 192.168.x.x. Type this number on the address bar and you'll open the router's configuration page.

You're here huh? Good, now you need to enter a usename and password. Don't have it? it's cool ;) try these combinations: Username: admin/Password: admin or U: admin/p: password and shuffle around with case sensitive. If none of this works, your router will have a username and password etched on it with a sticker.

If that doesn't work, contact your ISP and they'll give you one. Once you're on the router page, try looking for words like wireless frequency, 2.4Ghz/5Ghz or something similar.

Post a screenshot of that but only that. Use a cropping tool and only crop the settings and nothing else. Do not and I repeat, DO NOT post any IP information and if you do, I cannot be responsible for any DDoS or any Brutus.

Good luck, if you can get to this far it's cool. I can happily breakdown the steps if you need help as well dood.
