  • Hi,
You can upgrade to these compatible components in the link but for 4k gaming, you have to wait for reply from someone who is familiar with gaming.

By 4k gaming I assume you mean 4k60fps at max settings or you are looking for 4k144fps? There is no GPU that can currently run games at 4k144fps at max settings.

For 4k60fps I can at least recommend GTX 1080 or RTX 2070, but you will have to reduce the image quality by one bar(from very high to high quality in many cases). Options like SMAA in 4K can be switched off, as the difference can't be noticed in 4K. RTX 2060 is very close in performance to 1080, so

If you want 60fps without sacrificing little to none image quality, then you have to look for RTX 2080 or GTX 1080Ti. In some games like FF15(it is not very well optimised) you have to reduce quite some of the settings in order to run it at 60fps.

And if you want 4K60fps without almost any compromises you are looking at RTX 2080Ti(it also struggles with FF15). RTX 2080Ti can be considered the first true 4k60fps card.

If you can find an RTX card for the same price as GTX, that is if you can find GTX at all, take the RTX as it has some features like DXR(with this turned on FPS is reduced, but with real life like reflections and you are looking at 1080p or 1440p 60fps depending on the GPU you can find more info about RTX on google) and DLSS(you can find what it does in google).

RTX 2070 and GTX 1080 have about the same performance, with 2070 being slightly better. The only differences are that RTX 2070 has tensor cores for DLSS and DXR for realistic reflections. RTX 2080 and GTX 1080Ti have about the same performance, but with the same differences and around 20% better than 2070 and 1080. RTX 2080Ti is by around 25-30% better than 2080 and 1080Ti.

I have given you the details it is now up to you what GPU to buy.

    i5 8600k is plenty for 60fps gaming.

Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

The i9-9900K is the same for power draw as your i7-9700K, so it should be a direct drop-in replacement. Take a look at which ram you have in there already, your system supports up to 65GB using 2400 or 2666 speeds. You might have one 16GB stick or two 8GB sticks... Does your model have the 512GB SSD and 1TB HDD? You can swap either or both out for larger drives. Your M.2 SSD slot supports NVMe drives and your wallet is the only limit for size. Your case supports at least two 3.5" drives and maybe as many as four. There are four SATA connectors on the MB.
