Alright, so i have an Acer Predator Helios 300. i7 7gen, 16 gb ram, gtx1060 and my problem is lately i have been suffering extreme performance issues in all games. Literally all games. I used to play pubg pc at 100 fps on Medium settings but now i can play 12 fps on very low settings. Same with other games. Even ***** csgo. I used to play that ***** at 150 fps full settings ffs. I searched on forums and people said it might be the thermals. I get around 98'C temps during games. When i start the game its fine for a while(like 2 mins) before it gets hot and sends me to hell with 12 fps. Any Ideas??

I'm having the exact same problem. I have pretty much tried every solution listed here, every last one. I have seen no improvement whatsoever.

I have tried optimizing windows, uninstall unnecessary programs, thermal throttling, replacing thermal paste. Before people suggest watching Hotelhero videos, yeah I have done that too and tried everything he has to offer. I own a laptop with a 1060 and I cant play games even on 30fps, frames drop down to 7-10 every 10 seconds, literally unplayable. I regret ever buying this laptop and am actively making sure everyone on amazon know that its just not worth the trouble. This forum is littered with a post like this everyday, such an unfinished product.

When you repasted with new thermal paste; what was the temperature delta before and after repasting? If there was NO change, you did not repaste successfully.

What is your current CPU undervolt in XTU/Throttlestop? It should be possible to compare your undervolt with others on the same model CPU, and determine why your thermals are so high.

Also, I am seeing your CPU seems to be under heavy utilization while your GPU is largely under 50% utilization. Within a game, I think this is indicative of mis-configured settings. You should be seeing 99% GPU usage with lower CPU usage in games in general. Heavy CPU features (VSYNC?) should be disabled for better performance. - http://www.tweakguides.com/NVFORCE_1.html

I get your frustration. My Nitro 5 hovered in the 90C range from the factory when gaming, and the GPU was constantly throttling (Pascal) in the high 70's. I did the same things you claim to have done (Repaste, undervolt, Windows optimization, max fan profile) and I noticed a HUGE difference in thermals afterward. I'm convinced there's something you are both either skipping or missing in the process to cool these laptops down. It is not model specific, these steps work for nearly EVERY laptop Acer makes. Stay positive and keep troubleshooting.

Is your computer still under warranty? I recently purchased the same computer from Acer Recertified, and after a couple of months, I was having pretty much the exact same issue. The processor was throttling every few seconds when gaming, and even throttling a bit when I opened Chrome. I sent it back and they replaced the motherboard. I got it back a couple of weeks ago, and so far that seems to have fixed the issue, but I'm keeping an eye on things to be sure.

If after repasting/undervolting and i it was made correctly the issues still persist send it to warranty as that is not normal
