I own a gx 792 laptop
My predator sense is very basic version and I don't see a way to find a better version of it where some people have options for manually controlling it's speed upto even 6000 rpm.
I don't understand why a 4000 dollar laptop comes with such basic app that only lets me to tick on or off max speed which only comes to 4300 rpm (with coolbost) and it doesn't stay.
Under heavy load, it goes down to 3600 rpm and my cpu temperature spikes to 96C sometimes.
I have throttle stop app installed and thanks to it my CPU maintains 82~85 C assuming my fan speed is constant at 4300 RPM but it doesn't.
It always goes back down to 3600 RPM after 10 ~ 15 minutes then I would have to go back to main screen where nothing is going on or just turn the game off to put my Fan speed back up again
by using CoolBoost in acer quick access app.

So in short my questions are..
1. Is there a way to get a fancier version of predator sense?
2. Is there a way to force set the fan speed to be at 4300RPM or higher

Thanks in advance.

The only thing i'm aware is that the Predator 17 sense its not the same as the helios as far as i know it's not the same hardware/mobo so doesn't have the same options and the PS, it's completely UI its totally different also dunno if is there anyway to manually tweak it for more options (i doubt it and i couldnt know as i never owed one) you can try to use msi afterburner to control the fans if the options are available (again might not be) or even speedfan might work also don't know what options you have in you bios (if any for fans) someone here who own's a P17 might shed some more light on this and the P17 has much better cooling than the helios as far as i read so the fans run at much slower rpm's i get 6100 max on mine

I was wondering do your temps go up when the fans drop down or it still stays on 82-85 (those are good temps without even repaste) if it keeps the same temps and the fans drop means the fans don't need to run at more speed for those temps that's the information that the temps sensor sends to the fans i always have mine on coolboost and on idle my fans switch off completely because the temps are under 43-45 then kick back again i have a max of 65gpu 69 cpu (playing latest games on ultra but i repasted with kryonaut check this thread

I don't recall seeing any option in the BIOS and as for temperature 82~85 is after some heavy undervolting, before that they were hitting 99C.
And 82~85 spikes upto 91~95 when RPM drops down. This is also with laptop cooling pad and 20 C room during winter so.. yea..

6 months ago I talked to an Acer live agent and she said, it is working as intended. That fan speed (AKA coolboost) is supposed to drop down once system has cool down enough and no longer needs it and actively increase/decrease RPM depending on system usage. Problem was it drops down during heavy load, and it does not increase by itself unless I manually switch off and on Coolboost (lasts 10 minutes or starts to drop down right away if done during gaming). Told her that and still said working as intended ^^

Try to remove PS completely with any uninstaller software (i always use youruninstaller but there are many others) and reinstall it to see if it solves the issue
