Congrats. As for your questions, if it was mine, I wouldn't at this point bother trying to put the ACER recovery software on anything but the USB stick. I also would put the original 128GB card with its ACER recovery partition on a shelf for safe keeping. Jack E/NJ

Take the time to understand why a system image is far, far superior to a clone.  We've used system images in 5 different devices over a period of 7 years with a zero failure rate. Once you do & if you periodically create system images going forward; the next time you device has a catastrophe, the anxiety level will be minimal.

Fair enough. I am not that tech savy, however I have now tried both and what worked best for me was to have a fresh install of sorts with the recovery USB option (changing drives). When I did this I got the correct partitions and even that silly defaultuser0 has gone. I speculate that an image used to restore to a system point will work well, but on a drive swap a fresh install or recovery option is the way to go for me — following this I will make periodic (backups) system images on particular hard drives and try to upload them to the cloud (not sure if I could do this with a recovery USB as well).  I think it's peace of mind and once I get into a habit of it it won't be a chore.

    Thanks again everyone,
