My acer switch 12 had simply stopped.

This is the second time. When I try to turn it on the blue power light flashes once and then nothing. The first time it happened I left it for a month while I was out of the country. Once the battery died it came back to life. This time it is taking forever to die and I have no idea if it will come back to life. I have tried the hold down the power switch and the volume control simultaneously to no avail. What can I do? It had not been used much or abused at all.

    Hi Jalwyz,
Please try these steps to see if issue is resolved.
For this take out the charger if connected and press and hold the power button till all lights are off.
Have a look at the bottom of the laptop. Search for a tiny pin hole with a battery symbol by the side of it. If you see the pin hole, take a paper clip and press and hold it down for 30 seconds.
If you do not see the pin hole, then simply press and hold the power button for 30 seconds and let go.

Do try  performing BIOS default now.
    Steps to follow.
    1) Press and hold power button to make sure all lights are off.
2)Now press power button just ones and keep tapping F2 (tap,tap)about 10-15 times till the bios screen  loads up.
    3) Ones in BIOS, Press F9 one time and hit enter.
    4) Press F10 one time and hit enter.
This will restart your computer  .

Please let me know if this fixed your issue.

Thanks for the quick response. There is no hole at the bottom of the switch alpha 12. There is hole at the top but the paper clip does not get any resistance. Hope it is not the microphone. The second set of steps did nothing. Remember that the power light (blue on power button) flashes once and then it goes out no matter how long I hold the power button. Nothing comes up on the screen when I follow your instructions. Nothing happens at all. It is just as black as ever. Do you have any other ideas. I considered taking the back off and disconnecting the battery but that is a last resort. That particular job is arduous to say the least.

    Hi Jalwyz
Thanks for your response. What happens when you connect the charger. DO you see any lights showing the charger is fine. If no lights come up ,then use a different charger and check. If you dont see the pin hole. Then press the power button just like that with out the charger connected.Ones done please connect the charger and press the power button.
    Let me know the results.

Thanks again. I checked my power supply with my meter and it is putting out the correct voltage - 19V. When I press the power button without the charger in it flashes blue then nothing. When I plug in the charger the button light turns amber that indicates it is charging. When I press and hold the power button with the power supply plugged in the amber light flashes blue every three of four seconds. Nothing else changes.

    Hi Jalwyz,
Thanks for your response. It unfortunately looks like a hardware issue. Please contact acer for repair options.
