updated BIOS to 1.11 and now keyboard lights switches off automatically even on AC.

I have a nitro 5 AN515-42, i recently updated my BIOS to latest 1.11 by downloading from support page and now my keyboard lights switches off when left unused for a short time even on AC power supply.( earlier it was like this only on battery power).any fix??

Customer service said that this is not an error only this feature introduced to extend the life of the keyboard backlight.

OK! Enter the bios and press f9 to restore the bios settings to factory defaults. Then press f10 to save on exit! That way you will correct any bug that was present!Verify that the problem persists when you disable fast start up:

this did not help me. i moved from v1.08 to v1.11, now keyboard lights have a timeout dimmer, when previously it did not.

I can confirm this is a bug with version 1.11, it's already doing my head in after 20 minutes!0

F9 in the BIOS does not fix it, it's not a setting issue, but a bug in the BIOS file itself. Power management settings in Windows will not change this as it happens outside of Windows too (like while in the BIOS menu itself).0

It seems like there is really a problem in the bios! However I would now try to disable fast start up in the power options and then turn off the notebook to reset the battery! I've now downgraded to version 1.10 and the keyboard backlight works as expected. Obviously someone made a change in the 1.11 that forgot the AC check or something

Like Apple nerfed CPU performance to protect battery life? As suggested above, it needs to be in the changelog. I still disagree with it extending the life, as LED's are usually expected to have a 50,000 hour life. At 10 hours a day, that's over 13 years! a guy from the customer service office said that too many laptops were coming back with a broken keyboard backlight
