I bought an Acer Laptop Aspire 3 A315-51-51SL Intel Core i5 7th Gen 7200U on 7/27/2018 frpm NewEgg and it has been sitting until now.  It turns out the HDD is damaged.  I can replace the HDD but there's no way to restore to factory default as I received nothing with it.  I tried using the Microsoft Windows 10 Media Creation Tool and it installed successfully, but after a couple minutes it reverts to a blank screen.  Power is still on but there's no activity.  How can I restore it bacause as of now it's a very big paper weight.  Also, I can install Windows 7 and it runs fine but I have no drivers under this configuraion.  Thanks!

You can get the recovery media for the preinstalled windows operating system from Acer store.
It will install the windows OS and all device drivers for your laptop.
If the laptop is in warranty you may contact Acer support in your region to replace the defective hard disk and reload the windows OS.

Acer support United States : https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/service-contact
    Acer Store :  https://store.acer.com/en-us/extended/recovery
    Acer worldwide : http://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/

Thanks!  Is it normal to be charged $44.95 for the recovery image on a USB?  Also, is it not possible to format and install the OS (I have it) and still be able to use it?  It installs fine, but like I said goes blank within minutes...

Because Newegg's return policy period of 30 days has been expired, the only recourse is to request repair under warranty from Acer.  There is no point replacing the HDD or expending any more effort on the laptop, only to find out that there may be other hardware problems.

Thanks!  It must be something with the system because I tried to run the OS installed on a flash drive and it behaved the same way going blank within minutes...
