Hi guys,

I didn't quite get a good & quick answer from Acer support in my country so kindly helps me please:

Predator PH317-52

Part Number: NH.Q3DST.004

My system now has 256 GB SSD + 1TB HDD ; 16GB RAM

1. Can I change 1TB HDD to 2TB HDD (SEAGATE FIRECUDA 5400RPM SATA3 ( ST2000LX001))

* Can it fit (size)  in case ?

* Can it support 2TB ?

2. Can I put another 8GB RAM ?

* I don't need up to 32GB so 8GB is good enough. However, not sure if I have to put both slots with the same RAM size & bus?

---

Thanks a lot.

    It will support any 2.5 hdd of any size the largest available would be 5tb regarding the ram you can buy another sodimm but has to be the same frequency/CL preferably same brand or might not work properly in dual channel personally if you only want 16gb i would buy a 16gb 2x8 set of dual channel (maybe kingston hyperx 2666) if u have the funds for it and i would save that original 8gb aside just as a backup thats what i did when i bought my 32gb but it's up to u to decide what to do

    Yes thats correct to work in dual channel it should be always 2x8 or 2x16 for ex if you put one 16 and one 8 it will work at the lowest sodimm frequency same if you have 4 slots and have 2 in dual channel and decide to add 1 more it will not be working in dual anymore dual channel always works in pairs this is why there are sets to buy and you can see the serial numbers are usually followed on each sodimm and as i said personally i would buy a new set or at least try to find a sodimm with the exact same specs as i said for ex if you get a 2666 and a 2400 it will work at 2400 always the lowest comes first
