Acer Aspire E15 HDMI Randomly Stopped Working

I have always used my Acer Aspire E15 E5-576G-5762 with a second monitor (HP 22cwa) connected via HDMI and had no troubles with it. As of a few days ago I opened my laptop as I usually do and found that my monitor has stopped connecting completely. It recognizes when it is plugged into my laptop as it triggers a source scan, however to no avail it just says "Entering sleep mode" after a failed connection. Since then I have tried using two separate HDMI cables apart from the usual one, and connecting to multiple displays which has not led to a solution.
This led me to believe that the problem is most likely software related on the laptop side of things. The steps I have tried at this point to address more software related issues are:
  • Uninstall and reinstall NVIDIA drivers.
  • Uninstall and reinstall Intel drivers.
  • Windows+P and change projection mode to "Extend"
  • "Detect" displays both in windows displays settings and Intel control panel.
  • Roll back to an earlier driver version.
I am completely lost as to what the issue could be at this point as nothing seems to fix the issue.
Any help is very much appreciated.

What multiple displays do you mean? Does that mean you tried to HDMI out to a TV or another monitor? Jack E/NJ

I tried to connect to another monitor and it was once again not able to detect my laptop.

Randomly as in there were no external events that directly caused it to happen. The HDMI just stopped working out of the blue. It has never had issues in the past.

It says Version 1803 (OS Build 17134.345)

Is there a better form of communication we can use apart from replying to eachother that you'd want to use?

Well, check for a restore point in Control Panel on or just prior to 11/2. Jack E/NJ
