Acer Nitro 5 fluctuating temps

Hey everyone,

I just recently bought an AN515-42 (the Nitro 5 with ryzen and a 4 gb rx 560) and I noticed something unusual about my temperatures in Nitro Sense when I left it on idle. The temps used to be relatively flat, but now it fluctuates all over the place.

I don't wanna be the kind of guy that worries too much about my laptop, but this laptop has already been dropped twice (while inside the bag). The first was when I got into a bus accident, the second was when a guy bumped into it and it fell from the chair it was sitting on (still, inside the bag). While gaming, the temperatures max out at 72 degrees for both the GPU and CPU and it still plays the graphic intensive games just fine.

Are these fluctuations normal? Or do you guys think this is a heatsink issue as a result of the drops?

UPDATE: I noticed the temperatures would flatten out if the laptop isn't connected to a power source.

It might be windows trying to update the system or optimize some component, it wouldn't surprise me that while on power it runs these tasks, and then when the computer gets unplugged they get suspended to save battery power. If it is really persistent you can check the Task Manager and see what programs take the most CPU power/disk writes reads while on idle and then re test and see if the behavior changes when unplugged.

So I know it's been awhile. I've had my acer nitro 5 checked by an acer technician and had my thermal paste replaced. The temps are still fluctuating but another problem has arisen: my video card is slowly getting hotter. It used to handle temps really well; only reaching a peak of 72 degrees celsius and maintaining a steady 70 degrees celsius. Now it's hitting 90 degrees celsius. This is really disappointing.
