ET430K 4k monitor. The monitor goes black from time to time, speakers make click sounds & cut out.

    I believe they're asking for the monitors to be sent in for a firmware flash if appropriate. Firmware upgrades take special hardware...

    Just by way of update from me - since getting Amazon to swap my monitor, the new screen hasn't misbehaved once, and, 2 months in, I think I'm starting to get used to how massive it is. Sorry I can't help with the fault - other than recommending that you swap it if possible. It'd be great if Acer could take a bit of ownership here, as well as some transparency, and let us know what this widespread problem is, and how it can be fixed.

    Echo this thought completely. I'm getting fed up of seeing the monitor intermittently go black for a few seconds. Nobody appears to respond to our requests for more information. I actually love this monitor so if they could sort the issue out it would be great.

    If this is the case we would appreciate a notification.

    Go back to the first page in this thread, I believe that's where the solicitation was happening...

    Did you send a PM to Acer-Manny? Give him to time to respond and there's a chance they already have enough examples to diagnose.

    Hello all,

    Unfortunately i don't have any further information, the engineering department is taking care of this directly with the customers once the monitors are sent for diagnosis to our repair centers. The monitors need to be sent for repair, i don't have a direct link for the firmware update and that needs to be done by a technician in our repair center.

    Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause,
    Acer-Manny

    I too have been having the same problem. I will contact Acer by telephone/email/chat at the beginning of next week, but wondered if anyone else has any comeback about this so far? I'm quite upset to have spent a lot on a good screen.

    I am doing a lot of music editing in Sibelius software at the moment and don't have an auxiliary to fall back on, so could do with it sorting...

    I have been having the same problem with my two ET430K 4K monitors. I have read all of the comments and understand that Acer wants us to send the monitors in for testing, however, with ALL of these similar complaints being reported I wonder why Acer isn't able to reproduce the problem in-house. If not for this particular problem, I would be thoroughly happy with my two purchases. I chose the Acer 43" over the Dell because of the price difference and the monitors seemed to be equal otherwise. I use my monitors to develop applications, not gaming. I get the same issue when the monitors are connected to different new desktop machines with 32GB of memory and hefty GTX 1070 video cards.

    I just received my monitor and after 2 weeks of use i am experiancing the same thing. I see this goes back several months has Acer posted a fix for this yet?

    I guess I will be contacted Amazon for a replacement.
    I think Acer should be seeting up a replacement swap.I cant do without my monitor for a day.

    Thanks,

    Sadly I'm experiencing the exact same thing.

    I've been through it all...

    Multiple cables
    • DP->DP (1.2 and 1.4)
    • mDP -> DP (1.2)
    • HDMI -> HDMI (cheap and expensive ones)
    • HDMI -> HDMI -> DP adapter
    All of which have been tested on different monitors that do not exhibit the same behavior so I know the cables are good.

    I've even tried different PC's, with different video cards and different drivers.  Also tried HDR settings, RGB, YCBCR.  Nothing stops it.  I guess I'll try and PM the guy from this thread.  If I have to send this thing in it's gonna be such a pain.  Not your average sized monitor for sure. :(
