Have the same laptop, what kind of stutters do you get? I have audio stutters and rare program lag anyways from someone who had BIOS 1.06 (or was it 1.05? can't remember),1.08 and 1.09 there are problems in all of them, and I really hope the Acer team would at least let us know somehow they are aware, in the mean time let me tell you what problems I had in each BIOS

1.05 or 1.06: Stutter and Lag, sometimes cpu would get throttled at 0.36GHz and when when on battery cpu gets a max clock of 1.56GHz so the stutters audio hiccups happen more frequently, and 3 days after I got the laptop windows crashed and it wouldn't let me recover, had to fresh install windows since the Acer support took a month to ship a e-Recovery usb to restore the system, even on fresh install with no bloatware I still had sounds latency, video's audio sync problems.

1.08: No more throttle of 0.36GHz however, battery throttle is still there (power saving or buggy BIOS?) along with stutters and occasional lag

1.09: Awful process latency still present (checked with tool LatencyMon), not sure if it is windows, device drivers or bios, it probably isn't hardware since I had no audio issues on Ubuntu 18.4.1 (although I had to disable some features in the kernel for linux to even boot since the BIOS seems to be bugged).

Worst of all I still have audio stutters and rarely audio glitches horribly for a second when opening other programs or while under decent network traffic load and I've tried all the fixes. And just now I had a graphical glitch on chrome while writing this... sigh

TL;DR Depending on how awful your problems are, the best bet might be to reinstall windows or hope Acer engineers read some of these posts and fix the BIOS.

Another option would be to manually check for driver updates on the device manager panel, since windows doesn't always update all the drivers, nor does acer since BIOS 1.09 as of today is not listed on their support page for this laptop, while the device manager let me upgrade to 1.09

App opening takes some time. Even booting takes much time. Dunno what's the issue. Haven't tried to clean install Windows 1803

@Herman_Sol did you try downgrading bios to 1.08? did it solve the problems?

I haven't, either way both are still bugged and fresh install didn't make much of a difference, but your problems seems a lot more pronounced than mine, did you try changing your power settings to high performance? Other than that if you can't return the laptop we are gonna have to pressure acer into listening us...

Yeah thinking of returning it too. Maybe slow downs are due to 5400 rpm ssd
