Hello. Laptop 4 months. Problems with some keys have begun. The keys are working, then no. Keys "q", "e", "u", "p", "j", "1", "3", "]" and NUM "5".I applied to the Acer representation in the city of Kherson (Ukraine), they said diagonism would take 2-3 weeks. I can not give away my own device because it is the only workplace for work. I do not give the device a replacement for repairs, because, as they said, we do not issue a replacement technique, at the time of diagnosis.

    Hi @LemSensei

Since, only a few keys does not work then it could be issue with the hardware itself. You can try the below steps to confirm if its hardware or just a glitch.

Unplug all the cables from the device and turn off the unit. Flip the comp upside down and look for small pinhole with a battery icon. Use a paper clip or a pin then press and hold it for 30-40 sec. Now turn on the device and check if the keys work if the issue persist try the steps below.

    1. Access device manager
    2. check for keyboard drivers and uninstall it. ( Make sure not to check the box to delete driver software )
    3. restart the device and check if the issue persist.

  • Hi,
Have you tried reinstalling the driver for keyboard? If not, go to Device manager, expand Keyboards, highlight and right click Standard PS/2 keyboard, select Properties, go to Driver tab and uninstall the driver, reboot and let Windows install the driver.
If that doesn't help, go to Acer support site, download Acer Quick Access Application, go to Control panel and Programs, uninstall the current installation, install the downloaded Application, reboot and check whether it helps.

Thanks for the answer. But this did not last long. Yesterday again these keys stopped working, I repeated the procedure and again they started to work. Why does this help?

I did this, but I helped restart the battery. This effect lasted for 1 week and again there was a problem. I again shot the battery and they started to work. What is the problem itself?

    Hi,
You could try reinstalling Quick Access Application, go to Acer site and download the App, then go to Control panel, Programs and uninstall the current installation, reboot and install the downloaded App.

Hello. Thanks for the answer. I did these actions that you said. It helped. I'll wait when this problem again appears and I'll be sure to write to you. Do I need to update Quick Access? He says that there is an updated version.
  • Hi @LemSensei
If the downloaded App works for you, you don't need to update it in my opinion but it's up to you, if you want you can update to the newer version.

@brummyfan2 the keys worked well for 10-15 minutes, and then again began the prompts of the press. After 3-5 pressures, they all again function properly. And is it okay that I have 3 keyboards in device manager?
  • Hi,
I am not sure why you have two HID keyboard Device, you could try uninstalling one of them.

@brummyfan2 Hi, I read that this problem is often encountered in these models, due to the loop position and the heating of the laptop case. Can I consider a warranty case? And does the warranty replace the keyboard?
