Hi all,

For reasons I don't know, ever since I did a scan with Malwarebytes and Avast on Tuesday and then chose to update and restart my laptop (from v1709 to v1803), its been facing problems like
1. Screen flickering all over the place
2. Keyboard lights are on when I turn the laptop on but I get a blank screen
3. Try turn it on but keyboard lights flash a few times before it turns off
4. Laptop freezes for no reason

I've already tried to find a way to solve it and already hard reset more than 10 times. But couldn't seem to find a way to fix it.

I'm using Acer Nitro AN515-52-50WX, Windows 10 v1709.

    Hi Irwintys,
Try performing a BIOS default and see if computer boots up. Steps to do a BIOS default.
    1. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, or until your system shuts completely down.
    2. Power on the system. As soon as the first logo screen appears, immediately press F2 for notebooks or Delete for desktops to enter the BIOS.
    3. Press F9 and then Enter to load the default configuration.
    4. Press F10 and then Enter to save and exit. Please let me know if this fixes your issue.

Hi, it won't even turn on. When I press the power button, the keyboard lights and power light flashes a few times then shuts off.

I don't even get the chance to reach the first logo screen.

Try doing a power reset first! To do this, turn the notebook over and find a hole with the battery symbol on the side and press for five seconds; then leave the notebook off for five minutes and then try turning it on!

I had the same problem today, after taking apart the bottom case, I removed both memory sticks (8GB DDR4 x 2) from the motherboard, then I turned the laptop back on. The laptop kept failing (Black screen), so then I tested out each memory module...AND THE LAPTOP WAS BACK TO LIFE!! holy S#!t!!!. I was so mad cause I bought this laptop a month ago, first time the random shutdowns were driving me crazy, after a bios updated everything worked fine.

So, the problem was a defective memory stick, now, I only have 8GB DDR4, but that's better than nothing.
