Hi!

we have an Facebook VX15 group in the Philippines and majority of the members have an issue with a "Black Screen" on boot. the keyboard lights up, power indicator lights up... even the HDD Light is blinking but there's no display in the monitor as if the screen is turned off. we have to hold the power button to hard shutdown the device and turn it back on for the screen to work. some of the members have to disconnect the the power adapter then turn it on again for it to work. is there any fix for this? it's very irritating for us and it risks us of corrupting our OS.

thanks!

Same laptop, same problem. I re-installed Windows 10 with an USB Stick and it worked. But after doing all the windows update / driver update and reinstall my data, i got this problem again.

I guess there is problem with window updates

Maybe should you re-install window and disable windows update service until they fix this.

I had the same problem as yours, I do not know what I do. Support says that BIOS 1.04 should solve the problem, but it keeps happening when I start without connected AC.

Hi Acer, please help us to solve this problem.  It's very annoying already, I used VX15 with the same issue.
Hope we can get the solution sooner.  Thank you.

Here is a tutorial of troubleshooting steps that can be done without disassembly.
If every step fails & the device is under warranty, request Acer repair.
If warranty has expired, connect the television to the laptop & power both up.
If TV image is normal, then the screen may have failed.
If the TV is also black, then any number of components may have failed.  Re-seating/replacing the Ram may help.  It becomes complex beyond this point, therefore professional help is advised.
