Cannot boot from hard drive (but I can boot from USB)

Hello,

I tried to install linux so i pressed f2 to get me to BIOS menu.  From here I noticed I could change the boot priority to make USB top and so I set this and then installed linux.  Restarted, obviously it was still booting from USB so I change to the only HDD option, however it then just said no bootable device.  If I load the computer without the USB stick it doesn't boot from the hard drive, it just prints a screen saying 'no bootable device'.

I have since reset BIOS to default and setup the f12 menu (which I should have done the first time round, whoops), however this menu only registers the USB, not the hard drive.

However, in the linux install menu, it does know that an operating system is saved onto my pc (for it asks if I want to overwrite it).
