So the Acer Aspire A515-51G supports Integral M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe SSD (at least my model number, A515-51G-57DS, does). Thanks alot @brummyfan2 for your help!AIDA64 report:0

You don't need a heatsink for the SSD, try checking with another program like HWmonitor, the screw size is M2.0x2.5, it's bit smaller diameter than the HDD screws.

I read somewhere that if I change my original SSD to increase its size, I need a connector to migrate the OS and data to the new Samsung 970 Evo M2 SSD but I cannot find the reference. Please could someone remind me of the name of the connector needed? Thanks0

This adapter works with only a M.2 SATA SSD and will not function with NVMe SSD, so could you please tell us how you intend to clone the drive, is your current drive a M.2 SATA SSD? Do you have a HDD in your laptop?

Thanks brummyfan2. My current laptop has a 128 gb SSD which came with the machine which I bought new from Acer about a year ago (not sure if M.2 or NVMe) plus it has a 1Gb HDD. My SSD is almost full and I want to upgrade it to the Samsung 250 gb SSD. I was going to use Macrium Reflect software. Does that help?0

Yes, Macrium reflect will be fine, I would suggest you to avoid cloning, use Macrium reflect to create a bootable disk and backup the image of the M.2 SSD to HDD, then remove the 128GB SSD, connect the recovery USB disk, go to BIOS change the boot order to make the recovery disk as your first boot, install the new M.2 SSD and recover the image on to new M.2 SSD, after completion, remove the recovery USB disk, go to BIOS and change the boot order to make the new M.2 SSD as your first boot device, once you are satisfied you can delete the image from HDD.
OR
You can also use Migrate feature in MiniTool Partition wizard, download and install MiniTool Partition Wizard free, run it and use Migrate feature to transfer the contents of M.2 SSD (128GB) to HDD, remove the 128GB SSD and install the new M.2 SSD, go to BIOS and make HDD as your first boot device, reboot and use Migrate feature to transfer HDD contents to new M.2 SSD.
It's up to you to use whichever method you feel comfortable.

Put a 240GB Kingston A1000 NVMe SSD in mine. It works flawlessly, the laptop is perfectly compatible with NVMe. Here is a speed test, it's even better than advertised:
BTW, the built-in 1TB HDD is a Western Digital one, reads and writes at 110MB/s.

Yes, it's the same model, you have to contact Acer support centre in India to find out about the warranty situation.
