so, i have an Acer Pedator Helios 300 and i've noticed that Windows 10 will open random programs for no reason, such as Calculator or Photos, even if i haven't used ANY of those today. i was just wondering how or why it did this and how to get rid of it. it's not a huge deal, but it still bugs me.

second, i have a problem that i can't seem to fix, no matter what i try. as i said before, this is a laptop and i just can't seem to get the automatic dimming feature to be turned off. each time i turn my computer on, i have to go into the Power Settings, turn it On/Off, restart my PC, and then it works. i have it off in the Intel Control Panel, as well as the Windows settings. It's not altogether a huge issue but, it'd be nice to not have to restart my PC every time.

Hi, As random programs opens up automatically in your computer, the reason for it might be trojan horse. I recommend you to have anti-virus installed in your computer and perform complete scan. That should find any virus or malware in your computer. Removing that will fix your issue.

avast! and malware bytes both came back clean, which is what i expected. i don't visit any sketchy websites. it seems more like a windows 10 quirk then a trojan horse to me. i'm guessing it's one of the processes i have running that makes it open randomly.

also, random question: does Throttlestop's undervolting apply even when the program isn't open?
