Hey Guys,

My laptop is Acer Nitro 5  AN515-51.
I have some strange problems here that i cannot understand the answers.

1.In reviews and website i can see that acer nitro 5 can be used for something about 4 hours in battery mode (while using the internet and normal usage)
but when i click on windows battery status at 98% it says that i have 2:58 hours until the battery finishes

2.when i'm using my laptop in battery mode , i hear an strange sound every one or two minutes , it's like that it is enabling or disabling fans or something like this. is this a problem? or it's normal?

Hi, I've got the An515-42 but try this: Right click on your battery icon in the task tray, select Power Options and choose Balanced (recommended) or even Power Saving (don't worry, I don't have this as a choice either but you should be able to modify an existing plan or create a custom one). After you do this check the remaining battery life. As for the fans kicking in regular I can only surmise that the laptop is in a high power setting and some intensive process is causing the fans to behave loudly. On this model I have the Nitro Sense feature whereby I can tinker with the Fan Control and select a Power Plan (if available to you also try changing the options one at a time and check remaining battery life/ fan usage). Hope this helps somewhat.

Thank you , and what about this odd sound when you wake laptop from sleep or use it in battery mode? (it's something like enabling or disabling HDD or something like this but i'm not sure about it)

Thank you , and what about this odd sound when you wake laptop from sleep or use it in battery mode? (it's something like enabling or disabling HDD or something like this but i'm not sure about it) I can't be certain about the sound you are describing as the laptop came with a NVMe SSD and I installed a 1TB
You're welcome, I'm glad I was able to be of some assistance. I can't be certain about this sound you are hearing. If I had to make a guess, it really could be the sound of the hard drive spinning up for use. I can't tell though as I use a SSD drive in my system and so I haven't encountered this issue before.
