Any idea on how to recover my R3-131T?

I recently did a fresh install of Ubuntu Desktop (Latest version) on my Acer Aspire R3-131T (with the 32gig emmc) and now when I press the power button the screen remains blank for about 10 seconds, turns on (but stays black with no Acer logo) indefinetly and never loads. Also, it gives one short beep when unplugged. I have tried everything to access the BIOS or get it to boot so I am hoping someone could help.

Well if your recovery partition is still intact, which is doubtful, you can try a factory-reset from a fully off state. Turn the machine back on and immediately press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 key. A recovery screen may but probably won't appear. If it miraculously does appear, follow the on screen instructions as per the video below. If it doesn't appear, we're probably gonna have to either try to flash the BIOS from a bootable stick or open the machine up, remove the BIOS coin cell from the mainboard, then short out it's contacts on the mainboard to try to reset the BIOS chip to a default state. Make sure your system is completely shut off. Then turn it back on and ***immediately*** start tapping the F2 key. Does the BIOS menu now appear? Jack E/NJ

After trying alt and f10 it rebooted, showed the Acer logo and showed something like “Error could not configure bootable file for Ubuntu” (I think I have the wrong efi file chosen for secure boot) but I am able to access the bios now. Thank you so much!

OK. Is the UEFI bootstrap still enabled? On some Ubuntu installs, like Mint, secure boot should be left enabled as well. Jack E/NJ

Yes it is because I originally ran Mint on it, and when I ran Debian I didn’t force it to change those settings.
