I have Predator 17,  G9-791 Windows 10 v 1803.  Windows defender shows the yellow error sign and says that the TPM needs cleared in effect a factory reset only 2 days after I did  a reset. since the reset It had been working fine and the error had gone and then intel thunderbolt updates appeared and I updated and again got the error message back. I am not resetting it again! I spoke to Microsoft support and they said a bios and chipset driver update should fix it. Can anyone give me more information or advice?

I have to add that I am somewhat computer literate but I have my limitations and when I see red text on this website telling me that if I update bios drivers (or whatever they are) I maybe cause unwanted changes which I cannot undo makes me very nervous. so I really need someone who knows this stuff to give me an idea of what I should do :) I also do not know if I can simply update chipset without the bios and would this solve anything or have to do both. etc

    Addition 3
I also have noted that many drivers for download are older than when I bought my computer just over 2 years ago so again I am reluctant to simply click then and try to download them plus they don't contain a lot of information about what or why or for which error or message that you may be experiencing which requires the download of drivers. I do note that the recent driver for bios security issues is near the time that 1803 windows 10 update occurred but its still a wobbly idea for me and I need it in black and white before I do it. It seems sort of assumed that the owner actually has a clue what they are doing and this maybe not the case at all. Like I know I have a problem and I know its most likely to be software or hardware incompatibility but that's as far as it goes. Which drivers I might need are not clear and I need it spelled out.
