I just set up an Acer Aspire TC-780-ACKI5 (i5-7400 CPU, 2TB HDD, 12GB DDR4) two days ago and it has been making a low gurgling/boiling noise. As soon as I start it up, it begins to make that noise and continues to until I shut it off. It's not loud but it's there. I don't know if this is normal or if it has something to do with being new, but I just wanted to know if there could be an explanation for this before I take it to have it looked at. Any help is appreciated.

Hi, Sorry to know that new laptop gives noise :'(

From description, the sound is audible immediately after powering on the unit. Then 1st thing is to check with cooling fan in the unit.

To isolate the issue, load multiple programs in unit and check whether the volume of the sound get bigger. If it does, than you can confirm it to be the fan. Later, contact your region Acer Technical Support and fix it.

The Acer Aspire TC-780-ACKI5 is known for having a noisy HDD so that might be what you're hearing. I own one and was surprised  at how noisy it was, even though i had read about it before making my purchase.

I would probably even describe the noise the same way you did "
low gurgling/boiling noise" but I don't remember if it was constant like you describe as I have recently installed a M.2 SSD.

Ah okay, that's good to know. I was just worried there might be a problem cause I wasn't sure if it's normal. But recently I noticed the sound has been going away for a few seconds and then coming back. Maybe it will eventually go away? I'll probably just wait it out and see.

You can also get weird rubbing sounds if you have a wire mis-routed to touch the hub of a fan. Usually if it touches the fan blades or if the blades are out of balance due to dust buildup it's more like a buzzing.
