I game a lot while plugged in, which produces a lot of heat.
As the laptop body has a metal finish i can easily feel a lot of heat on the area above the gpu.
So i was wondering if i should buy a cooling pad or if the laptop is more than capable of doing that on it's own and that much heat is normal.
Hope that helped you.

If the laptop is placed on a flat surface, the air it is sucking underneath is lready hot, already heated up by  the laptop's heat. The cooling pad will blow cold air to the laptop, which will reduce the temperatures.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

guys I found a solution to fix Acer aspire 5 heating issue just set the maximum processing state of your CPU to 65% then it will reduce the heating problem without compromising in performance.
