I have just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8. Not sure if it's a good move yet? But I can't scroll with my Touchpad. On my Lappy, to disable the Touchpad it's, press the function key (Fn) lower left on keyboard, and the F7 key at the top of the keyboard, both at the same time. On the key (in white) it has little rectangle, with a hand, and the circle with a slash through it....got all that?? Your laptop may be different. Errr, maybe check your manual, as I've said before, most of us don't. lol.

After many months of my Touch Pad not scrolling etc since I upgraded to Windows 8 from Windows 7, I seen this post somewhere (not on here) and they had the same problem.

I had tried the latest ELANTECH drivers, which is the one suggested for an upgraded notebook (Aspire V5 571G), but the person in the post said don't use the Elantech driver, use the Synaptics driver (16.0.2.0) which is actually a Windows 7 driver and now it is perfect!!! I can now scroll and pinch zoom etc, everything I want from the touchpad.

Go into control panel...system and security...hardware and sound...under the devices menu you should see "mouse"...you can enter and a box appears with settings available etc...you can disable it from here.
