For the second time, my C910-3916 Chromebook went black. Nothing happens when I press keys.  In short the device is dead.

This happened a couple of months ago and despite several attempted fixes, it remained dead until it somehow revived itself after a few days.

So what is happening?  And how can it be fixed?  Note: Any fix that requires me to access the internet or to do anything else with the Chromebook won't work because all I have is a black screen.

Do you see any indicator lights when you power On the Chromebook?

    Is the charger working fine?

These weblink have information on restoring your Chromebook using USB recovery media.

    create recovery media

reinstall the Chrome OS with a USB Recovery

reinstall the Chrome OS without recovery media

The fix.  I opened it a couple of times to see if it had recovered.  No.  Then at one point I opened it and accidentally tapped the touch pad and the screen lit up.  So I am happier but no wiser.
