I was putting the laptop back to factory default, I chose to wipe my personal data.  Part way through it said that it had encountered an issue and gave me only a cancel button.  I pressed that and now it will not boot.  On power up I get the Acer logo, then nothing - the system cycles through reboot.  I also tried the reset on the bottom.

Any ideas?  I dont have recovery media.

Thanks.

Press and hold the power button for about 5 secs till the machine completely shuts off. Then turn it back on again and immediately press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10. The recovery screen should reappear. Try to reset again. Jack E/NJ

Thanks Jack.  Tried, I don't get anything.  Acer logo  blank screen - repeat.  It feels to me like the windows partition itself is corrupt and it wont boot.

    >>>Acer logo  blank screen - repeat>>>

Does the ACER logo screen actually appear immediately after turning the machine on? Or is it a black or a blank screen with no ACER logo? Jack E/NJ

OK. Shut the machine off again. Then turn it back on and immediatley starting tapping the F2 key to try to enter the BIOS menu. If the menu doesn't appear, try the same thing except press the M key instead of the F2 key.

    (1) In the BIOS menu Information tab, is the eMMC drive's name and id listed? (2) In the BIOS main tab, enable both the F12 option and the D2D recovery option. (3) Then save settings and exit and retry the ALT+F10 re-set unless Windows decides to boot.

Changing the boot order allowed me back into the recovery routine..  Putting the EMMC above Windows Boot Manager allowed the machine to boot when pressing alt-f10.

I then ran the reset routing, but the same problem occurred and I get back to the endless logo/blank cycle.

I am going to boot from a USB key and put Windows on like that.

If you made the USB using Microsoft media creation tool, it'll be a generic Windows version with plain vanilla Microsoft device drivers. You might have to download and install the ACER-specific devices drivers if you find some hardware that doesn't work correctly. Jack E/NJ
