Hi,
- pc: Acer E5-573g, i5-5200, in EFI mode with Win 10 and Kubuntu in dual boot -
I have cloned the HD partitions with Clonezilla on SSD. I have not cloned only an Ntfs data partition.
When the pc the starts, the message appears on a light blue background:
"a necessary device not connected or inaccessible - error code 0xc000000e ...."
I tried to use the Usb restore pen, all useless.
What do you recommend me to do?
Thanks.

The new SSD storage size must be equal to or greater than the old HDD. Jack E/NJ

The new SSD is 250GB, the old HD 500 GB; but the cloned partitions are around 200 GB.
    I had previously reduced the size of the partitions to be able to clone them on a smaller disk;
in fact, a partition containing only archive data has not been clone.

OK. See if AOMEI will do it for you. https://www.aomeitech.com/ab/standard.html  Jack E/NJ

Do you suggest me to redo the cloning with AOMEI, there could be my mistake or Clonezilla?
p.s. Could you tell me if the disk cloning includes of the unallocated space of source disk?

Yes, that might be an issue. You might want to try AOMEI since it allows for cloning a single partition or volume at a time instead of the whole disk. https://www.backup-utility.com/features/partition-volume-clone.html  Jack E/NJ

Turning to the network I discovered that there should be a hidden Acer partition "PQSERVICE" of about 10GB to restore the system Win10, that Clonezilla and not even gparted (linux) sees, so it could be this to prevent SSD from starting the PC.
I checked again the partitions on SSD are the same as those off HDD.
I have not used AOMEI, maybe can it see this hidden partition?

Yes AOMEI should see the hidden ACER eRecovery partition. But gparted should see it too but it might not be labelled pqservice. Jack E/NJ

It not possible that banal operation of cloning - HDD to SSD - with EFI partition becomes a "tragedy".
Why the manufacturer does not provide specific tools?

I do not understand. I have to reinstall the Win10 and Kubuntu.
    What a disappointment!!!

Sorry. Does this mean AOMEI did not resolve your issue? It may be a general limitation of the process---the source be the same size or smaller than the clone. Jack E/NJ

Sorry for the delay, unfortunately it did not work, so I had to reinstall Windows 10 and Ubuntu.
I again struggled to create the dual boot because Acer decided to make it difficult to use the two operating system with Bios EFI.
Thanks you were very good and kind.

Congrats. Dual boot Windows & Linux work better under the UEFI bootstrap than BIOS if it's any consolation. Usually only requires a GPT FAT32 stick with the installation iso and adding the grubx64.efi to the efi partition.  Jack E/NJ

I am not sure I understand what you say. It is with installation of Win10 that the EFI partition is created; instead, it is Ubuntu installation that copies grubx64.efi, shimx64.efi, mmx64.efi to the Efi partition. But in the boot list  of the bios there is no Ubuntu or grunbx64.efi or other name to start the dual boot.
You must go in BIOS>> Security >Selectan UEFI file us trusted for executing >HDD0>EFI>Ubuntu, here are the names of the Ubuntu files, listed above. Here you need to edit the name file grubx64.efi. Save and close. You restart pc, press F12, boot list, the expected Ubuntu name appears. So,in the Bios boot list permanently modify the boot list.
This mode, a rather convoluted, is Acer's specific.
