Backlight keyboard working with Acer Aspire E5-571G-522K?

I have just taken out my old keyboard out of my Aspire (E5-571G) and put into its place a backlight keyboard originally designed für Aspire E5-551G. Everything is working fine except for the backlight feature. Fn+F9-buttons show no effect.
Do I simply need to install new drivers? Or is there another way to get it working?
I'd be grateful for any help.

    Hi,
I couldn't find any backlit keyboard part number for E5-551G, most probably it could be an incompatibility problem, could you be able to post the part number of the keyboard you have bought.

    Hi brummyfan2,

thanks for the answer. The product-id the retailer noted in the bill is 1100378058. Is that the number you were asking for?

I know this keyboard was not originally designed for my Aspire E5-571G, but the retailer-ad said: "for E5-552G, E5-571(!), E5-511-Series".

Any chance, it is not a compatibility issue?

Just noticed: Not only FN+F9 doesn't work. ALL FN-key-combinations are disabled. But without FN, the keys do what they are supposed to.

Very annoying, because the keyboard is otherwise great and a lot more pleasant to work with than the old one.

Any chance of fixing this issue?

    Hi,
It could be an incompatible issue, however, go to Device manager, expand Keyboards, highlight and right click Standard PS/2 keyboard, uninstall the driver and reboot to let Windows install the driver, also check whether you have a flashing letter "A" in F9 key.

    Hi,

thanks a lot for the suggestion. Unfortunately no flashing up of letter "A" in key F9 and still no FN-combinations working after deinstalling PS2-driver and reboot.

Do we have to leave it at that or could you imagine any other way of trying to solve the issue?

Give this a try, go to acer support site, download Quick Access Application, uninstall the current installation in Programs and Features, install the downloaded application.

Just did it. Unfortunately FN-combinations are still dead.

Sorry, I have run out of ideas, why not take it to a local repair shop and get a second opinion.

Seems, a repair shop is not necessary, brummyfan2. The latest downloadable version of the old "Launch manager"(8.00.8116) did the trick, reanimated most of the FN-keys. Only the backlight-function (FN+F9) is still missing. Do you see any way to get that one to work?
In any case, thanks again for your effort!

    Hi,
Did you figured out how to turn on Keyboard back light ?
Did you connected backlight power cable to JBL1 connector to motherboard?
