I couldn't search to look for an exact fit of the same issue as above seen in my new E5-575 laptop just 6 months old.
Why should the orange light keep blinking even after disconnected from charging or power outlet with enough around 40-50% of battery capacity remaining?
Please let know if this issue is solvable or is it a defect in these models .earlier I had got a ***** Acer adapter replaced as well.
Thx in advance for all replies.

I doubt re-calibrating will change much. So it's likely the battery's internal regulator is screwed up. If it were mine, I'd probably ignore the blinking LED with no other apparent issues. I've ignored my WinBatMeter warning shown below for 3 years now. It bothered me at first so I borrowed another battery just to see if the warning went away. It did. So I've been ignoring the old battery's blinking redX & warning ever since. It's never shut down unexpectedly when unplugged except when I ignore the low battery message at about 10% remaining. :) Jack E/NJ

Battery low: Blinking orange (1 sec on, 3 sec off)

Battery critical low (less than 3%) or abnormal battery situation: Blinking orange (1 sec on, 1 sec off)

Battery was charged upto 40% and then shutdown cleanly.
So there is no question of low or critical charge level here.
    What is abnormal battery situation?

    Is Acer listening?
I got a faulty/failed adapter after just 5 months of usage.
Now orange light keeps blinking every sec on/off which as per above reply shows battery abnormal. What is going on here? I seriously feel Acer has cheated all buyers in this e5-575 series

You're on a user community group. Users trying to help users. If it's a 1sec on 1sec off blinking, it's either a critically-low battery (doesn't matter what the battery software meter reads).  Or the control chip inside the battery has gone haywire. If the former, you may be able to re-calibrate the software meter. If the latter,  not much you can do except replace the battery if it causes issues other than a blinking orange LED. Jack E/NJ

    Thanks for reply.
I am aware this is Acer user forum.
How to do this recalibration of battery? I had already done few charge cycles like discharge till 5% level ,leave it & then charge with shutdown etc etc to let it calibrate full potential of battery long backas advised here exactly.
Not sure if I need to do this again and moreover I got my adapter replaced very recently by service centre folks who told everything is alright. Now for no reason I get abnormal battery condition....
    PS:
Within 5-6 months of simple usage if user starts complaining of very basic issues and service centre folks not doing due diligence I am expressing my anguish . Hope it doesn't bother you or rather shouldn't .

    Thanks for reply
So far didn't see any other issue.
I am new to Acer and having come from using dell for long which had bios self diagnostics etc I don't want to take any risk.also non removable battery .
(not only that this laptop had a failed adaptor causing few other issues...)
    Would ignore for time being.

    Same problem. Computer don't charge.
1)Got a new ac adapter. Nothing
    2)Got a new battery. Nothing
3)Got a new power jack. Nothing
4)Conclusion= motherboards charging unit probably dead. Budget electronics.

Are you sure it's the same as originally posted here? https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/544065/after-shutdown-also-orange-light-blinks-e5-575-laptop

Seems more like your laptop won't work at all on battery alone since it won't charge. Am I correct? Jack E/NJ
