Hi. I searched all over the internet and I couldn't find any solution. I have an aspire 5100(5103WLMi) and the cooler only start at startup and it stays up as long as I am in bios. If I let windows run, it won't work anymore. I also tried linux and it is the same. As long as I am in bios it's ok, after that it's not. It's getting very hot and stops. I cleaned my laptop for dust. Its clean now but cooler doesn't work. My bios does not have hardware monitor and there is no way to set manual the cooler. What can I do ? Thanks.

Hi,
Have you monitored the temperatures with HWmonitor or similar utilities? Have you tried repasting the CPU?

I can't use any tools to monitor the temperature because I can only use the laptop for 2-3 minutes. After that it shuts down. Is there any way to enter into hardware monitor in bios? Any secret menu, or hidden keys to unlock it? I am thinking maybe I can set the fan to run nonstop.0

Hi,
I think that you have to repaste the CPU as I suspect overheating due to dried up paste or faulty fan.

I repasted the CPU and I replaced the fan. The same problem. How do I acces/ unlock hidden menu(advanced settings in bios)?0

I think you have to take it to a local repair shop to have a look at it by a technician, I don't think the advanced settings can be enabled, you may try any BIOS modifying sites to get a modified BIOS but it's risky and you need to google for the detail of those sites.0
