    @Swiftblade Did the Microsoft gurus have you search all the Window subdirectories for a text file "setupmem.dmp" ? If not, please search for it and look for the word "error" inside. An error string may give clues to pinpointing the problem. Jack E/NJ

    "Gurus" is a strong word, and no they didn't... Found the file, but unable to open it, even as a text doc its nonsense, searching for "error" yields no results. Seems I don't have a dump check utility, the ones from the Microsoft website are for version 1709... the version I am unable to install! :P

    Both dumpchk.exe and windbg.exe require 1709 ? Jack E/NJ PS Do a search for both in C:\Windows

    Ok, managed to download dumpchk.exe, but honestly, its a little out of my comfort zone. rang it against the file, got a CMD prompt and a whole laods of text. However, the below had the word "error" in it, is that what you were looking for?

    Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

    BugCheck A, {8, 2, 0, fffff803eba67cdc}

    *** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for avgMonFlt.sys
    *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for avgMonFlt.sys
    Probably caused by : ntkrnlmp.exe ( nt!KiRetireDpcList+51c )

    AVG remnants still seem to be in there but doubt they're causing the issue. However, a quick google search of "avgMonFlt.sys" does turn up suggestions that it might be involved.  https://support.avg.com/answers?id=906b0000000DleSAAS  I'll study it a bit more. You might want to take a look yourself. For now, I suggest that you try to find "avgmonflt.sys" on the C:\ drive and rename it to "avgmonflt.sy0" to disable it.  Jack E/NJ

    cloning the drive was just one try of many. It's more the question on which drive Windows is installed. And no, recovery does not work, too.

    Hi All,

    MicsoMicr recent updates is not conoacompa for some of the devices but unfortunately in windows 10 you cannot stop the windows updates also. Kindly whether your computer is comoatcomp for the new built windows 10 post which install the updates. There few work around which may also help you. You can download the latest version windows 10 built ISO and do a reinstall or before updating windows 10 latest built disable the WiFi adaptor, display card, DVD driver webcam etc deivces which is not required to boot in device manager. Post which install the windows updates and ensure computer boots fine then enable one by one and restart.

    Congrats. And Thanks. I'll have an IPA please. But you still might be sorry when the Win10update messes something else up on the machine. :o  Jack E/NJ
