Acer 15 cb3-531.  Chromebook started normally functioned OK  for about one minute, then the screen suddenly went black.  No light on the power button.  Diagnosis and possible solution?  Thanks.

    Hi,

at first please let us know if there was an update happened before this issue could have occurred.

Also, check if there is any light indication when the charger is plugged in. if No. then check the cable connections and try out a different socket.

let us know if this works

    Chromebook went to black

    Solution:

    * Close the lid of the chromebook

    * Disconnect the adapter and all external devices.

    * Open the lid of the chrombook

    * Press and hold the power button for 15 to  30 minutes.

    * Connect the adapter back and press the power button for 3 seconds.

If still the screen is blank then try to connect the adapter to different wall outlet and power on the laptop.

If there is no display contact the acer customer service.

At some point over the weekend the Chromebook woke up without any intervention on my part.  I was moving it to get it out of the way, and from force of habit, when I set it down, I opened it up and the sign-in screen appeared. From early Thursday morning until mid-afternoon on Saturday, I got nothing but a black screen every time I opened it up.  Not being tech savvy, I tend to see this as a miracle,
