I just bought an acer nitro 5 and I set it up but in the "actions" section of health of laptop it says I haven't updated the software (I skipped when I bought the laptop) but now when I try to update it only did 9 of the updates and is failing to complete the rest,it then said your device is too old to run the update and came up with a reset button.Right now I'm resetting it and it's charging over night while resetting, why is it failing and can me laptop battery be damaged if I play games on it while charging and recording. Will it overheat?

well, all the manufacturers design the unit to hold upto a certain limit of overheat. Also, the Operating system is designed in such a way if there is a trouble detected it would shutdown the computer to stop from any disasters.

yes, any computer would overheat depending on the usage. regarding the updates please try to install them post resetting the unit.

Overcharging is not an issue for newer laptops as they are equipped to handle such situations.
Just keep your laptop on a plain surface while playing games which facilitates cooling, it won't be much trouble.
    Hope that helped you.
