I want to expand the storage on the iconia one running Android 7 I've tried several SD card brands including SanDisk. Problem I have is if chose removable memory card it formats and works fine ( but I can't find a way of moving apps to the SD card which is possible with this tablet)  if I choose format as internal storage  I get a message after about 5 minutes telling me the card is ready but when i try  to access it is says SD card corrupt I'm getting this with any SD card I use all of a which are brand new any ideas?

Do this in this order first.

Format your SD and your data will stay intact in your phone memory and then try moving the files, if it doesn't work, then connect a card reader on your laptop or a computer and then format it in NTFS format, then insert it back into your tab and you can move them. If not, you can move all the data by connecting your tablet and laptop/PC and move it to PC storage and then move it to SD after inserting into your tablet.
    BElieve in YOUrself.

Is that reply a copy and paste  from somewhere?  Because I don't have phone I have a tablet and  as I've explained there are 2 types of format one works the other does not  the one that doesn't work on any branded card is what I need to get going I think.
If use removable storage I can transfer all media files to it but not apps. I want to transfer apps so I need to format it as internal storage. I know it's possible because my wife has the 16 gig version of this same tablet. Which I can move apps on to her SD card once it's formatted as internal storage  thanks for the reply
Also no pc I have Mac or MacBook

that's a really strange issue, your wife has the exact same tablet model (check android build version too)?
if so, format the SD card as internal storage using your wife tablet and then put it on your tablet.

if it still has the the same issue, probably can be a bad SD card slot or try a tablet factory restore.

That was great idea I tried it. When I put it back in my tablet it said unsupported card and offered me setup . I tapped that tried  erase and format for internal storage it completed. But when it tried to mount the it for use it came up with corrupt.  It is a really strange one because I can format it as a portable disk it works fine I might have to bite the bullet and do factory restore and try again  thanks for you input though

Update did the factory reset tried to add the sd card  again was given 2 options
Option 1 portable storage which allows media files and some apps ( apparently )  which formats and   works  just haven't found ANY  put apps i can move to it
Option 2 format for internal storage which means I can store everything on it . It formatted said it was ready then as soon as tried to use it  screen reads checking for about 5 minutes followed by corrupt  which meant I had tonformat it again manly to option 1
Anyone can think of anything else I can try please let me know
