Some people have mentioned in the wifi thread http://community.acer.com/t5/Acer-Tablets/Acer-Iconia-W700-Wi-Fi-problem/m-p/37691#M4002 that the acer live updater provides a different driver. I ran the acer live updater program, but it doesn't show any lan drivers, and I do also have the latest acer live updater installed.

Can an Acer tech please tell us what going on?

It is simple! The driver that ACER provides is not the latest one available on the Internet! ACER's Live updater checks ACER's web servers for drivers! ACER are just ignoring the fact that once they release something on the market, they have to support it! All the drivers on ACER's web site are from 2012! There are newer drivers for VGA, BT, WiFi, and probably some more...

It's a shame that someone from acer can't let people here in the forums know when a new driver is released.

A new driver has been posted in the driver section on acers site. Wireless LAN_Atheros_10.0.0.225_W8x64_A.zip.

It was posted on March the 3rd 2013

Why is the lan driver 226 megabytes? Come on Acer, you can do better than this.

It is so big because there are two drivers in it! WiFi and Bluetooth! The Bluetooth software is more than 100MB alone. And the drivers are made by Atheros (the manufacturer of the WiFi/Bluetooth board) so ACER are not to blame about the size at least! BTW in the package there are two more folders that only have the barebone drivers which is very useful for a simple driver update in device manager!
