Dear all,

For the last 2-3 weeks, I have a strange sound while charging my laptop. At first, I thought it was the cooler, but no. It happens only when the laptop is charging. Please, is there any way to get rid of that sound? (It sounds almost like the old HDD's, a skirting sound).

Thank you!!
Best regards

Yes it's possible. It could be due to noisy electrical motor in your house or in a nearby house or in a nearby factory. Such as an old refrigerator or manufacturing machine. A professional electrician might be able to put a electrical noise filter on your circuit breaker or fuse box. Jack E/NJ

Does the sound seem to come from the computer or its speakers or the charger itself? Jack E/NJ

I think I resolved it now. It came from the pc. It took to much energy, I updated the BIOS and lowered the energy coming to the CPU a bit. It is like new now. Thx!

Oh it came back :( I hear that hissing sound again when I charge my laptop. Idk what to do. It can be heard on the left side of the laptop, only when it is charging.

The hissing sound is likely due to variations in the AC power frequency coming from your wall socket. Have there been any recent outages or other grid issues reported in the Vienna area? Jack E/NJ

Actually no. So there is no way that I can fix this issue?

Thank you very much for the help!

Is it possible for you to try another wall socket not on the same circuit breaker? Or better yet at someone else's house? It's also possible that the charger itself is not filtering-out the AC frequency very well.  Jack E/NJ

Hey, you have been right. I tested it in another house, and there was no sound while charging. :( Is it possible somehow to fix that at my home? Thank you!
